tickled pink

someone up there sure loves me. just when i was feeling my lowest, a few nice, and truly unexpected things happened. and i'm so tickled pink!

first, i've been poked by an administrator of the multiply customized themes group into joining the theme contest. i know i am not the best theme designer around, and i have no time to design a new one, so i didn't even consider joining the said contest. well, she convinced me so i submitted on of my old themes.

today, i received a message from the theme contest people asking me if i wanted to submit one more theme. =) the rules said i could only submit one, so i just picked the theme with the most comments (coffee stains). they singled out another theme i made (catch the wind) and asked if i wanted to submit that too. *insert big grin here*

and to top it all of, i just found out that my research paper on the psychological aftermath of the ormoc disaster got cited in a book! a book! it's called cultures of disaster by greg bankoff, and he mentioned the results of my study twice! =D i never realized that study was even noticed by anyone after i presented it at an international conference a million years ago.

it's so nice to know that what i did made an impact on other people. =) that it matters, after all.

Pat, OF COURSE what you do matters. I have told you how inspired I was when I was in your Psych 101, and not a lot of people can grasp how I loved being in your class!

*proud*
