good things

perfectly imperfect

sometimes, even when you're just softly dreaming,
someone out there listens.

i'm so excited about my collaboration with therese. =) we've teamed up to produce websites - i design them, she takes care of the content and the marketing. isn't it perfect? our first project is already in the making. i finished the design part and although there were several challenges related to cross-browser compatibility, i'm hyped that i was able to solve them. see? you need brains to be an artist too. hahahaha. =)

some of the most wonderful people in my life right now i met through multiply. i'm so grateful for the day i joined it because my life is all the richer because of these friends, and i want to keep them in my life in a more permanent way. i'm so happy that some of them feel the same way.

previously, i was asked to be godmother to zach and andi, and i'm still basking in the glow of that honor. now chiara has asked me to be fairy godmother to her little maximus. i only met chiara once in person but we've forged a true friendship. i'm so deeply honored that she thought i was deserving to be her son's ninang. my cup overfloweth. =D

someday i will have wings

blow me a wish

one day i will fly

You are never given a dream without also being given the power to make it true.

You may have to work for it, however.”

-Richard Bach

Remember the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull? I revisited it decades after I last read it. When you're in high school and the whole world lies before you, it is easy to get excited about dreams and believe that they're all entirely possible. And then you grow up and meet situations and people that tell you otherwise. And sometimes you even start believing them, compromising on your dreams, or giving them up entirely for the right to be called pragmatic.

Having to work for your dreams doesn't mean that they weren't meant to be yours. It actually makes the attainment of them all the more satisfying because you toiled for them instead of having them handed to you on whatever sort of platter it came with.

Like you, I dream of flying. I refuse to believe everyone who has ever told me that I was "too smart" for the arts, or that it wasn't a viable profession. This is what I love to do, this is where I am happiest, this is where I am most fulfilled. I don't think it's a waste of my talents, or brains, on the contrary I think it's the actualization of them. I need to do this, I owe it to myself, and I owe it to my Maker. After all, why else would He plant the seeds of longing in my heart in the first place?

i didn't teach him this

my little gentleman

my son, the gentleman

vito and charlotte walking from school, i asked them to pose for a second

escorting charlotte

walking and talking (charlotte is in another uniform because she goes to two schools)

aren't they cute?

he may be hyperactive, willful, and stubborn, but vito can also be a gentleman. =) i was such a proud mommy when, walking from school today with his other friends, he got my umbrella and proceeded to give shelter to his classmate charlotte. (she's an adorable little girl who doesn't take naps, so her mom enrolled her in two schools. i know, i know, but she's not my kid so i won't say anything.)

we were on our way to the nearby mall to meet a friend i met in multiply (that's another blog coming), so i changed him out of his uniform. we were already a bit late but i couldn't hurry him up, not when he was being such a good boy!
